Sitjar Lluís Del Son Moix: one of the biggest mistakes of the club's history?

Since today is back in the future of Lluís Sitjar, and taking advantage of a question that has made me a blogger, I think it is worth to remind you how it came Mallorca Son Moix and why took the decision to leave their old stadium of Es Forti. Surely it is a story that many of you do not know, more than anything for youth and worth that we continue all present.
In 1996, the Higher Sports Council passed a new law requiring all professional clubs to have their stadiums meet a number of security requirements from the season 97-98. In return, offered large subsidies to accommodate the installation of security cameras, to the expansion of output and the general improvement in the structure of all stages. The Sitjar Lluís did not meet even one of the regulations that were required, so it was necessary a complete remodeling. The problem was that the minimum cost would shoot over 1,000 million pesetas and the subsidy was granted by the CSD was 600 million.
At that time, Palma was immersed in organizing the World University Games 1999, whose main feature was to be the Son Moix stadium. In 1993, Miquel Dalmau season had already begun negotiations with the City to Mallorca was the beneficiary of this new exhibition at the completion of the Universiade, but no agreement had been reached, mostly because what he advocated the Lluís club was to keep out Sitjar and that pays Universiade refurbishment, something that was opposed by the politicians of the time, who opted for the transfer of equipment to the new stadium.
On December 17, 1996 was awarded the work of Son Moix to Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas, which implemented a project designed by architect Guillermo Reynes, who would be president of Mallorca in the summer of 1998 to 2000. Of course there were significant delays, and the stadium was not completed until shortly before the start of the Universiade, in the summer of 1999, almost a year later than planned.
The framework agreement between Mallorca and the City was signed in the summer of 1997 during the final season of Bartolomé Beltrán mandate. The club contributed to the work of 600 million pesetas received from the CSD to bring their stadium to the new security rules, and instead of enjoying them available for 50 years. Of course, since much of the cost of 2000 million campus, was funded by the state, was imposed as a condition not to withdraw the athletics track, although from the outset, the City Council said that this condition would only be applicable two or three years.
Mallorca played his first match in Son Moix on August 21, 1999 against Real Madrid. Eleven years have passed and analyzing what happened from the perspective of more than a decade, I think it was without doubt one of the gravest mistakes he committed the club in its history. Was a finalist for the grant of 600 million granted by the CSD, and at that time came the money-transfer baskets of Valeron, Amato, Mena, Romero, Marcelino ... If he had made an effort could have achieved the necessary capital to remodel the Lluís Sitjar and would not have been necessary to move to Son Moix. It is also true that there were so many political pressures because of the Universiade, but was lost for ever more authentic Mallorcan temple, and unfortunately will no longer be able to recover ever.
